Nimonic 90 is a precipitation hardenable nickel-chromium-cobalt alloy. Nickel is considered the base. The proportion of chromium and cobalt is approx. 19% or 17% The content of titanium and aluminum is 2.5% and 1.4%. 2.4632 has a high creep rupture strength at temperatures up to approx. 900°C. In addition, the grade shows good corrosion and oxidation resistance at high temperatures.
Since 2.4632 is heat-resistant, the material is used for gas turbine blades and disks. Highly heat-resistant springs are also produced from this quality.
Nimonic 90 is characterized by the following features:
high creep and heat resistance (up to 900°C);
good corrosion and oxidation resistance.
